PARKES AGRICULTURAL SHOW:
27th - 29th August 2012 - Parkes Showground....Great family entertainment over 3 days.
The Parkes Show is a big country show with many events including horses, sheep and cattle judging, farming and motor display, side show alley, Miss Show Girl Competition and the popular dog show competition. The spectacular fireworks display is one not to be missed. The show also features ringside daily and evening entertainment.

HENRY PARKES CENTRE: Pioneer Park, Newell Highway Parkes.
Incorporating the Pioneer Park Antique Machinery Museum, a local history collection and Moat Cottage - a replica of Sir Henry Parkes birthplace which houses The King's Castle - a collection of Elvis' Personal Memorabilia (owned by the former 'Yello Wiggle' Greg Page. The Henry Parkes Museum has over 4,000 excellent exhibits including relics and items from the pioneering and gold mining days.

MEMORIAL HILL- ARBORETUM and ROTARY PARK: Enter from Bushman Street - near intersection of Albert Street
The home of the 35 metre high Shrine of Remembrance with a beacon light on top. A memorial to the service men and women who made the supreme sacrifice during the World Wars and other tours of duty.
From top this hill there are panoramic views of Parkes and the surrounding countryside. A great place to picnic in Arboretum and Rotary Park.

Parkes Antique Motor Club presents their Annual Super Swap Meet. Caters for veteran, vintage, classic, modern, sports cars and motorcycles and also attracts many stall holders providing a great opportunity to find that hidden treasure.

BACK YAMMA BIGFOOT - PARKES & FORBES:
Sporting Event - TBA September 2012 - Cnr Back Yamma Road & Eugowra Road, Parkes.
The Back Yamma Bigfoot, a new event for 2010 and this 25/50/100 kilometre mountain bike race is held in the Back Yamma State Forest near Parkes and Forbes in the Central West of NSW.
ANTIQUE MOTORCYCLE RALLY:
October Long Weekend - Parkes Showground - 29th September - 1st October 2012.
The Parkes Antique Motor Club hold an annual motorcycle rally for veteran, vintage and classic motorcycles built before 1964 during the October long weekend.
Participants come from famous clubs and travel to Parkes from all over New South Wales. Some motorcycles are very rare indeed and unique, often being built by companies that collapsed during the Depression or were destroyed by war and other problems.
PARKES ELVIS FESTIVAL:
2nd weekend in January annually - various locations/venues around Parkes
The Parkes Elvis Festival will gather more than 9,000 visitors and fans to Parkes to join in the festivities and fun over the five day program.

Peak Hill - The Open Cut Experience at Peak Hill Gold Mine. The Peak Hill Gold Mine has been re-developed as a tourist attraction with guided or self guided tours.
A 120 kilometre self-drive tourist route of Paddock Art sculptures between Molong and the Dubbo Taronga Western Plains zoo, via Cumnock and Yeoval in Central West NSW.
